Care Instructions
Please refer to care directions on the garment tag for correct washing method. Do not machine wash before checking proper care instructions. Do not use machine dryer for vintage garments.
"Hand wash cold and lay flat to dry" is the preferred method to preserve the quality of most garments. Depending on material, quality, and age, not all garments need to be hand washed. If the tag says to machine wash cold, you can follow those directions! Certain materials may be hand washed even though the tag says "Dry Clean Only". However, materials like viscose, rayon should not be hand washed and tend to shrink to disproportionate sizes. When in doubt, there is no harm in taking it to a professional cleaner if the tag says to dry clean.
The Laundress has an incredibly helpful guide to decide what materials you can and cannot wash.
